Gayle Roper

Gayle Roper has been in love with story for as long as she can remember. Whether reading a novel or writing one, she loves the experience of entering another world, especially one where everything works out well. She believes one of the great benefits of telling a story is the presentation Christian truths in a non-threatening way. She writes Christian fiction because it models the consequences of godly or ungodly choices.

Gayle has won numerous awards for her fiction including the RITA Award from Romance Writers of America, the Carol Award from American Christian Fiction Writers, the Inspirational Readers Choice Award, the Reviewers Choice Award from Romantic Times as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award. She has been a finalist for the Christy’s three times.

Gayle has also written several non-fiction books, the most recent A Widow’s Journey, based on her blog of the same name. Neither a book of devotions or a how-to survive book, A Widow’s Journey tells how it feels to walk the path of bereavement in short pieces a widow can digest.

For years Gayle has taught writing at writers conferences around the country and has received several awards for her encouragement of writers from conferences like the Mount Hermon CWC, the Greater Philadelphia CWC, the Florida CWC and others.

Gayle lives in Southeast Pennsylvania where you will often find her eating out with either good friends or a good book.
