As a Christian writer, you know the joys and struggles of a career in producing God-honoring books. Your writing is an offering to the Lord, a sacrifice of hours, love, and hard work. Take heart, dear writer. God honors the offerings of your heart.
But how do you share those offerings with others? What makes your book stand out on the shelves? The world of publishing can be confusing, and at times, downright discouraging! We at the Christian Authors Network understand. We’re a group of multi-published Christian authors who have joined together to spread the news about books to book lovers everywhere. As you know, writing and promoting a book is hard work with many unknowns. No one person has all the answers. That’s why we’ve pulled together to share our knowledge, to encourage one another, and to offer advice on a variety of writing-related topics.

We are an organization of Christian authors in a supportive association. We operate as a cooperative, Christ-centered venture, working together to encourage and teach one another and get the word out about CAN authors’ books. As a professional organization, we charge dues. These help us to fund a website and other CAN projects. We count it a blessing to join together on this writing and marketing journey.
For administrative reasons, CAN accepts membership applications only once per year in June and July. Our 2010 membership drive will begin on June 1st and will run through July 31st.
New Membership Criteria for Authors and CBA Industry Professionals
Authors Criteria: Two books (at least one of which is still in print) published or contracted with a traditional CBA royalty-paying house OR one book (still in print) published with a traditional CBA royalty-paying house, along with a consistent record of magazine article sales to Christian publishers. Special Consideration: Self-published authors must have at least one traditionally published CBA royalty-paying book alongside his/her self-published book(s) in order to be considered. The CAN board reserves the right to accept or deny applicants at their discretion.
Industry Professionals Criteria: CAN is now open to applications for membership from those who earn their living as traditional CBA industry professionals. This includes agents who consistently represent CBA authors, along with acquisitions editors, in-house copy/line editors and in-house marketers for traditional CBA royalty-paying houses. This also includes professional freelance editors and marketers who work primarily with CBA books. There will be no charge for industry pros to join CAN. The CAN board reserves the right to accept or deny applicants at their discretion.
