Lena Nelson Dooley is a multi-published, award-winning author who loves to mentor the people God brings to her. She has hosted a critique group in her home for over twenty years, and in that time thirteen people have signed book-length contracts. Her books cover a wide variety of scenarios, but they always include a romance and characters who grip your heart. Lena has a BA in Speech and Drama and has completed graduate hours in Speech and Social Studies. She has been involved in church drama and community theater as well as working on a TV movie and other radio and TV work. This background gives her a wide range of activities to draw from when she writes novels. She often speaks to women’s groups, writing groups, or at conferences.
Lena married the love of her life in 1964. They have two daughters, two sons-in-law, two grandsons, two granddaughters, a granddaughter-in-law, and a great grandson. They enjoy spending time with this extended family. James and Lena are involved in Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. Lena volunteers in the church bookstore. She’s also part of the altar ministry team as well as helping in Global Ministries. She particularly enjoys being involved with other women in the church. She teaches a class for the Apples of Gold mentoring ministry.
