Marilyn Hilton writes “Stories that Stick” for women and girls of all ages. She has published numerous articles, devotions, short stories, and poems in literary and consumer magazines such as Decision, Women’s Touch/Leader’s Touch, Spirit-Led Writer, Bay Area Baby, Mid-American Review, and Reed, and was a columnist for the online magazine Spirit-Led Writer, with a series of articles for writers. She has also published The Christian Girl’s Guide to Your Mom, a book for preteen girls, and is hard at work on writing novels for girls. Marilyn enjoys inspiring and encouraging audiences when speaking at workshops, schools, conferences, and retreats.
Marilyn holds a M.A. in English/Creative Writing and is a member of several professional organizations. When she’s not writing and speaking, Marilyn provides professional writing and editing services for corporate business, publishers, and authors. She has been a youth leader and has led Bible studies for youth and adults, and has served as a parish deacon. Marilyn and her husband and their three children (and one feisty dachshund) live in Northern California.
By taking quizzes and surveys, reading parts of the Bible, learning about other girls and doing activities and crafts, girls aged 9-12 and their moms can build—or build upon—the trust, communication and love that are all important while Mom is still one of most significant influences in her daughter’s life. The Bible-based content clarifies and reinforces Christian values, and helps readers to understand many different aspects of their relationship with Mom as an essential part of God’s exciting plan for them. The Christian Girl’s Guide to Mom combines discovery and fun for daughters and moms—of all ages.
