Dr. MaryAnn Diorio is a widely published, award-winning author who writes riveting and compelling fiction that deals with the deepest issues of the human heart. Her latest novel, IN BLACK AND WHITE, a love story about racism, will be released in late Fall 2019.

MaryAnn’s other novels include the three books in THE ITALIAN CHRONICLES trilogy:  THE MADONNA OF PISANO, A SICILIAN FAREWELL, and RETURN TO BELLA TERRA. THE ITALIAN CHRONICLES trilogy is a page-turning, family saga revolving around the life of Maria Landro, a woman torn between two worlds, and who must choose between them.

MaryAnn has also written two novellas: SURRENDER TO LOVE and A CHRISTMAS HOMECOMING. A CHRISTMAS HOMECOMING won the Silver Medal for eBook Fiction in the 2015 Illumination Book Awards Contest.

Her books for children include five picture books: WHO IS JESUS?, TOBY TOO SMALL, CANDLE LOVE, THE DANDELION PATCH, and POEMS FOR WEE ONES and one chapter book: DO ANGELS RIDE PONIES? THE DANDELION PATCH won the 2017 Pinnacle Achievement Book Award for Best Juvenile Fiction Book of 2017. 

Prior to writing fiction, MaryAnn wrote for numerous magazines and newspapers. Her work has appeared in The Saturday Evening Post and Billy Graham’s Decision Magazine. She has contributed to several compilation books, including Religious Writers Marketplace (Abingdon Press), The Heart of a Teacher (Bethany House), Rest Stops for Busy Moms (Broadman & Holman), Rest Stops for Teachers (Broadman & Holman), Daily Devotions for Writers (Infinity Press), God Answers Moms’ Prayers (God Allows U-Turns series, Harvest House), and My Turn to Care (Thomas Nelson). MaryAnn has also served as head writer for a regional television series titled Teen Machine.
 

MaryAnn has appeared on several radio, television, and Internet talk shows, including the popular Christian Authors Show with Danielle Hampson, the nation-wide LeSea Alive program hosted by the late Dr. Lester Sumrall, By the Book hosted by Debbie Williams, and Women of Grace hosted by Kelly McCausey. She has also been interviewed on WDAS (Philadelphia), WIBG (South Jersey), and WNNN (South Jersey). MaryAnn has served as a distinguished judge for the annual AMY Writing Awards Program, the annual Capitol Writers Writing Contest (Washington, DC area), the annual American Christian Fiction Writers’ Genesis Contest, and the ACFW First Impressions Contest.

A graduate of the University of Kansas where she earned the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in French and Comparative Literature, MaryAnn also holds the Master of Italian Language and Literature from Middlebury College, the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University, and the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree in Christian Counseling from Christian Leadership University. She has taught Romance languages and Fiction Writing at major universities.

MaryAnn has served on the faculty of several writers’ conferences, including the Philadelphia Writers’ Conference, the St. Davids Christian Writers Conference, the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writers’ Conference, the Sandy Cove Christian Writers’ Conference, and The New Jersey Society of Christian Writers’ Seminar. She is a graduate of the three-year program of Rhema Correspondence Bible School, a diplomate of The Institute of Children’s Literature, a graduate of CLASS (Christian Leaders, Authors, and Speakers Services), a graduate of the Association of American Christian Counselors’ Light University’s Caring for God’s People program, and a graduate of The Life Coach Institute.

MaryAnn is also a Certified Life Coach, a Certified Behavioral Consultant, and a Certified Biblical Counselor as well as a gifted Bible teacher and speaker whose heart’s desire is to help people become all that God created them to be.

MaryAnn is married to Dom, her wonderful husband of nearly 50 years and a retired Emergency Room physician. They reside in New Jersey and are blessed with two amazing grown daughters, an awesome son-in-law, and six rambunctious grandchildren. In her spare time, MaryAnn loves to read, paint, and make up silly songs for her grandchildren.
