On September 24, dozens of retailers filled the room at the Munce Christian Product Expo in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, for devotions with CAN
authors. As retailers arrived, the Munce staff handed out gift bags of bookmarks with seventy titles releasing in 2014 by CAN authors. Retailers use
them for bag stuffers as gifts for their customers. CAN secretary Ava Pennington opened the event with a welcome and devotion from her new re-release Daily Reflections on the Names of God.

CAN president Angela Breidenbach and treasurer Karen Whiting shared a little about Christian Authors Network (CAN) and how CAN partners with stores through Munce to give independent retailers unique content and support.

Next, Cecil Murphy spoke on how words are hugs we give people and his passion to embrace others through books he writes and retailers sell, such as 90
Minutes in Heaven
and I Believe in Miracles.

Angela Breidenbach spoke on how books and written words create a legacy and how her newest book, A Healing Heart, used family photos to make a quilt that became a legacy. Karen Whiting then shared new ideas that CAN and Munce hope to implement soon to give

Deb Woodar wins books more to retailers. She also shared a devotion from her new book, The One Year Princess Devotions. Other

CAN authors joined the stage for a question and answer panel and drawings of bundles of CAN-authored books that totaled $3700 in retail value.

Excitement grew when one winner stood to speak and surprised everyone. Mollie Flowers, of
Gospel Music and Christian Bookstore in Laurinburg, North Carolina, said her store was doing so well and she wanted to pass on the blessing and asked for three names to be drawn in place of her name for three stores to each win one box of books.

Scott Gabrielson with Churchmart Store in Rocky Mount, Virginia, Michael Ford with Word of Wisdom in Swansea, Illinois, and Tom & Jane Goeller of Colonial Books & Gifts, llc won the three prizes.

 

Deb Woodard from Bethany Book and Gift in Baxter, Minnesota and Karen and Rob
Grosse from Lighthouse Christian Books in Green Bay, Wisconsin won the
$1200 prize bundles. Several CAN authors signed books at the end of the event.
