Hi, Sherry Kyle here, writing from central California.

"SherryI usually blog for CAN on the third Monday of the month, but
this one got away from me. I’ve been filling out interviews and guests posts to
help launch The Heart Stone, my April
1st release. It’s been a whirlwind of activity. I know you can
relate.

Writing can take over our lives. Besides writing the next
manuscript, we’re asked to blog, network, speak, head committees, judge
contests, critique, and market. Phew! If we don’t pace ourselves, we’ll burn
out.

How can we have a fulfilling, productive writing life that
does not take over?

We must:

Plan. Writing down goals propels us forward.

  • “Wise people think
before they act; fools don’t—and even brag about their foolishness.” Proverbs 13:16 NLT

Write with endurance and persistence.

  • "Steady
    plodding brings prosperity . . . “ Proverbs 21:5LB

Improve
our writing
by continually learning the craft.

  • “A dull ax requires strength, so be wise
and sharpen the blade. Ecclesiastes 10:10 LB

See our writing with fresh eyes.

  • “Whatever you do, work at it with all your
heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you
will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ
you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24 NIV

Are we frantically trying to prove our worth or are we gently
pursuing what God has for us?
