Contemporary Christian Fiction: Honor Thy Father, Episodes One and Two
Honor Thy Father is a two-part story of a family which is separated from each other through a series of tragic circumstances. The prologue takes place in 1989, the current time, and introduces the five main characters. Adam Wallace, the father of three children, Charlotte, Dana, and Scott, is suffering from a rare form of leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life. The prologue reveals that Adam has been separated from his daughters for twenty-five years and has not had any contact with them. But now he needs their help. Why should Adam’s daughters honor him now when he needs a life-saving bone marrow transplant? Why should his son, who was kicked out of the house, honor his father? Is there any hope of reconciliation when twenty-five years of anger, bitterness, and divergent pathways have led family members down different roads of life?
How does a family survive after being torn apart? Adam Wallace copes with the heartbreaking loss of his first wife and daughters by immersing himself in his work. His daughter, Charlotte, withdraws from everyone and everything around her. Daughter, Dana, living a life of privilege, does not even realize her loss. Second wife, Katrina, copes by trying to make everyone else happy. Son, Scott, copes by rebellion. Ultimately, they all come to realize God can work through every situation to make beauty out of ashes.
Honor Thy Father is a compelling story of loss and redemption and how God can turn tragedy into triumph.

The book’s review:
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. This is what family is all about, loving and supporting one another. I love the way the author, Ellen Fannon, was able to weave all the lives together. One of the best books I’ve read. An amazing story of love and redemption.

April 15, 2023 - 19 : 39 : 14These books keep you on the edge of your seat or up through the night. Descriptive characters become friends you will be cheering on, even praying. I would love to see Honor Your Father turned into a TV series. In this broken world where Satan is destroying families, this book is not only a must read to show redemption is possible through Redeemer, it is a must ‘see’ to impact generations while bringing healing.
