Writing can be difficult enough, but writing through a crisis can be almost impossible. But for the grace of God, we would never make it.
So, what can we do when we are on deadline and a serious crisis occurs in our lives? We can rejoice! Now, lest you think I’ve lost it, let’s take a look at the Word of God:
“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but . . . keep on rejoicing . . . .” (I Peter 4:12)
Why are we commanded to rejoice when a trial comes our way? Because when we rejoice, we are proclaiming our trust in God and in His grace to get us through the trial.
The Kingdom of Heaven operates by laws that seem contrary to the laws of the world. In the world system, we would complain when a trial comes our way. We would moan and get angry and respond with all kinds of negative, unproductive emotions. But in the Kingdom of God, the proper response to a trial is to rejoice because we trust Him.
If you are facing a serious trial that is causing a major obstacle to your commitment to write, begin rejoicing. As you express your trust in God, He will move mountains on your behalf.
