Book Review of Bathrobe Pool Club: Tales from the Deep End
So many thoughts dance in my head about the BATHROBE POOL CLUB, TALES FROM THE DEEP END.
First, oh how I would love to live in this neighborhood, which is quickly followed by oh how I want to recreate a culture of friendship in my own neighborhood that created this book!
The next thought is how much I appreciate time to read about a character, put the book down and ponder further about the choices she made, the life she lived, and her reflection of it all without any lectures or pity parties, just the gentle reflections of a life well lived that has allowed her to come to the golden years with joy and peace in her heart. Then how easy it was to pick the book back up and start the next chapter without needing to refresh myself about previous chapters. In other words, it is a wonderful spring or summer read that is meaningful, but not cognitively demanding!
Then the different ladies. Each one caused me to end up feeling as if I knew them and love them! Each lady of the Bathrobe Pool Club reinforced that life works out, it all works out and we are better for it. But the most resounding thought is that a life lived in balance and friendship with others is a life well lived!
