Greetings from Marti Pieper in not-as-chilly-as-last-week Mount Dora, Florida! I first met Karen Whiting several years ago at the Florida Christian Writers Conference, just a few miles away from my home. I’ll be back there again in a few weeks to serve as conference chaplain and to teach a three-hour class on memoir. And Karen has gone on since then to do what she does best: speak, teach, and publish more books and articles than almost anyone I know. Let’s dig into her interview right away so you can learn more about this award-winning author.
Short daily meditations bring simple messages of hope. Each devotion uses a word image to illustrate an uplifting thought. Topics relate to seasons as well as struggles and the future that include the hope of new dreams, restoration, overcoming difficulties, and renewal. Anchors, spring flowers, candles, chocolate, a soothing touch, encouraging words, and other timeless images and touches remind us of hope and God’s love. The weaving of appropriate scriptures adds to the depth of discovering lasting hope.
