Writer’s Treasure

, by

Hi! It’s Sherry Kyle writing from Central California.  As I was considering how I could encourage you today in your writing journey, my thoughts turned toward Scripture. There is no better way to keep our eyes and hearts focused on God than to point to the Bible, the best-selling book of all time. Here are some verses to treasure as you write for Him:

Writer Friends

, by

Aloha from Karen Whiting, trasurer of CAN, I recently taught at a writer’s conference. I love the friendships I’ve developed over the years at conferences and other places. Other writers inspire me, understand the passion and lifestyle, and share similar goals. It’s important to develop friendships with other writers and industry professionals. I cherish a mug one writer friend gave me. It says, “Choose an Author as you would a friend” for I have many author friends.

Friend or Fan? (There Are No Foes Here)

Understanding the Difference Between a Facebook Profile and Page Hello from Cat Hoort. I was just visiting the Kregel Publications Facebook Page and found an interesting question from an author: I’m finally joining Facebook, but I need some advice. HOW should I be using Facebook? This is actually a very common question. I first congratulated the author on asking the right question. He didn’t ask SHOULD I be using Facebook? (he knew the answer to that was “yes”); instead he asked: HOW should I be using Facebook?

Pay It Forward

Hi, all. Ava Pennington here again! Once upon a time I was the Vice President of Human Resources for an international insurance company. The corporate rat race consumed all my energies. Writing for publication was a vague dream that belonged to another life – a life far removed from my reality.

Or maybe they aren’t any of those things but do a great job at spreading the word about books.

Roller Coaster Expectations

, by

Hi, Dan Walsh here, writing from Daytona Beach. As I look back on my “journey to publication” and the journey I’ve been on since, I’ve been reflecting lately on the topic of expectations. Specifically, their tendency to be out of sync with real life. It doesn’t just happen occasionally. I almost never get them right. And when life doesn’t line up, add up, or live up to my expectations, my heart falls into discouragement.
