Jeanette, tell us how you got into writing.

Thirty-five years ago when our youngest was a baby I wrote some poems and an article for La Leche League. I liked sharing my creativity with the world, but did not pick up my writing again till my kids were in their teens. That’s when I began writing devotionals, attended my first writers conference and sold my first article.

This past Friday, I figured out what to do to reach success.

“Okay, guys,” I announced to my 7- and 5- year old grandkids, “here is the game. Take this straw and blow on the cotton ball gently enough so it will stay between the two lines marked with masking tape on the floor.”

They both grabbed their straws, took turns, giggled and did their best.

“No way,” I said to the lady across the counter at the airport, “that bag has my make-up.

Isn’t that crazy? When I was told my bags took their own trip to a different location, I panicked. Not worried about my clothes, books or material for the presentation, I was fretting for my make-up.

Why are we that way? Why do we allow our muscles to stiffen over silly things? We fret about the glitches that really don’t matter that much.
