Sherry Kyle pic Hi! It’s Sherry Kyle writing from Central California.  As I was considering how I could encourage you today in your writing journey, my thoughts turned toward Scripture. There is no better way to keep our eyes and hearts focused on God than to point to the Bible, the best-selling book of all time.

Here are some verses to treasure as you write for Him:

Proverbs 16:9

In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.

Psalm 90:17

May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us – yes, establish the work of our hands.

Psalm 143:10

Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

Isaiah 40:31

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

2 Corinthians 11:3

But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your mind should be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

I want to encourage you to . . .

  • Write the verses down on 3 x 5 cards and keep them handy.
  • Pick one and memorize it.
  • Print them out on a piece of paper and attach it to your wall next to your computer.
  • Read them often.

Maybe you already have a favorite Bible verse that inspires you. Please share it with us!

Sherry,
I love that you filled your post, as well as our hearts, with a word from the Word!
I consistently pray Psalms 90:17 – not only for myself, but also for my family and friends.
I love how the Amplified expands that power-packed verse…
“And let the beauty and delightfulness and favor of the Lord our God be upon us; confirm and establish the work of our hands–yes, the work of our hands, confirm and establish it.”
I loved reading your post today! Thanks!

In huge letters on the wall above my writing desk I have vinyl letters stating, “When I called you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted”
Psalm 138:3

Susy, I usually write what I need the most. I’m so glad I’m not the only one who needs Scripture to make it through the day.
Stephanie, oh I really like how the Amplified version expands on Psalm 90:17. Thanks for sharing! Think I’ll post this version on FB today! 🙂
Cathy, what a great idea to have a verse in HUGE letters right above your writing desk! Like you, I love the Psalms.
