She was asked to speak on “Agents and Editors.” The author will have books and DVDs for sale. Meetings are at 10:30 am, on the second Saturday of the month at the Arlington Community Church, 1715 W. Vindicating the Vixens: Revisiting Sexualized, Vilified, and Marginalized Women of the Bible has been named a finalist in the adult non-fiction religion category of the Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards! The book is the brainchild of CAN member Dr. Sandra Glahn. INDIES recognize works by individual authors and independent publishing houses, including academic presses such as Stanford University. Filled with Fear or Firm in Faith?
Sometimes it’s a pleasant surprise. In the midst of writing and heading to speaking engagements, God whispers a call to a different task. Mine was a mission trip to Bolivia and Peru. A special visit in many ways for me as Bolivia happens to be my birthplace. The weather was beautiful. A shower of blessing upon blessing poured upon me. And the folks whom I ministered to shined joy into my days. But in the middle of doing good work, a bad glitch appeared.

Thriving Through the Holidays
Jan here, hoping to offer a few encouraging thoughts and ideas to help you as writers thrive through the approaching holidays. The past five or more years, I’ve headed into the Christmas season with either book deadlines or December speaking engagements (or both).
